Here are some individual projects. We are asking that you commit 2 hrs/week for 6 weeks.

Instagram + LinkedIn: (design, social media, story-telling)

  • Using canva & your creative eye for design, create a Nonprofit highlights, Sponsor highlights on IG

  • Linkedin, update profile and find 5 meaningful articles with your summary to post that align with Chai's mission and that our audience would enjoy 

Design 3 creative models using referral networking: (business, marketing, strategy)

  • Research case studies of referral marketing for events. Interview other organizations hosting similar events

  • Create 3 different models of how to increase attendance using referral marketing

  • Pitch different narratives of how to encourage people to bring friends 

Build a Testimonial Library: (communication, story-telling, interviewing)

  • Expand library of individual stories by interviewing clients and staff and gathering written accounts of their experiences and taking photographs to demonstrate program impact

  • Design a page on the website featuring testimonials 

Research Grant Writing: (analytical, proficient writing skills, research) 

  • Learn about grant writing and present to team about fundamentals of grant writing process

  • Study requests for proposal (RFPs) and determine what kind of grants Chai should be applying for

  • Determine what statistics chai for charity will need to apply for grants

  • If volunteer finds opportunity, the volunteer can apply to a grant(s)

Social Media & Publicity Manager

Volunteer Role | 2 hrs per week (this is a longer term role)


Responsibilities

  • Create a weekly social media topic plan and editorial calendars. 

  • Mobilize and advise Chai staff and Board to contribute to marketing efforts.

  • Design and implement co-marketing plan with nonprofits, sponsors and hosts, and boost our collective efforts to gain more brand awareness.

  • Engage with like-minded social media accounts.

  • Plan live broadcasts pre-, during and post- Chai events.

  • Report on marketing strategy and engagement to the Board periodically.

  • Source written and video content from our partners: guests, hosts, nonprofits and sponsors.

  • Ensure our website content is fresh, relevant and aligned to our marketing efforts.

  • Report on Google Site Analytics and suggest ways to drive more traffic to the site.

Qualifications

  • Mastery of these tools: Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, Google products

  • Professional or personal social media management experience

  • Familiarity with SquareSpace (preferred)

  • Previous non-profit experience (preferred)

  • Events management (preferred)
